Here is an email I recieved this morning from Carol Miller at Pomsource.
Take notice of how she doesn't care for the safety and wellbeing of this puppy
My vet stated that this puppy can not fly due to her illness
A fact that I've told Carol Miller many many times
It's seems to be all about the money to her, not the puppy's life
Dear Sarah, I have had some people call me saying you are spreading lies about our business. They know that these things you are saying are untrue, but it is very disturbing to us. All our customers have been so happy and love their puppies. I would like the puppy shipped back as soon as possible. We had no attention of doing anything unfair. Our warranty is inline with almost every breeder we know. I would rather not ship a new puppy to you but refund your money. I also need a letter from your vet stating the exact problem is. Please email us all flight information. Thanks Carol/PomSource

Look at these people who have had the same problem:Pomsource buyer beware
Not to mention that she even admitted in one of her e-mails that she had another customer who has had the same problem.
Sarah, PomSource is not evil. The evil comes from lies spread about Christians by non-Christians so caught-up in being right, they overlook the truth. Proverbs 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. Proverbs 11:9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. Yes, we do take offense at your comments, but thanks to you and this public forum, will gladly share our side of this experience.

Our vet owns and operates a reputable business in Pike County,IL and we welcome anyone who happens to run across this blog to include their comments regarding either of the Griggsville Animal Clinic offices. They have, do, and will continue to do our well-puppy check-ups prior to our shipping any animals we sell. They did perform one for your new puppy, Fiona, of which you have a copy. Our warranty policy is posted on our website and has been from its inseption at: http://www.pomsource.com/warranty.htm and is similar in every way to most other dog breeders we have come in contact with who also have websites on the world wide web. We did not hide anything from you and even told you to make sure you read and understood our warranty as well as our buyer agreement/contract which you willingly signed and returned to us. Our warranty clearly states that PomSource will replace the animal with a healthy one if a life threatening problem is detected, but the sick animal must be returned to us. If you choose not to return Fiona to us for your warranty, do not blame us for not being able to help you. As sad as it sounds, if the animal is too sick to fly (be returned to PomSource), then it should be destroyed anyway, but either way, it must be returned to PomSource for any warranty to be acknowledged. It is not that we are mean spirited or as you seem to be content to put it, "evil", we are merely practical.

Now on to Fiona... Don't you think you would be somewhat stressed-out if you were only 8" tall and had just completed a trip of approximately 2200 miles? I don't particularly care for air travel myself, and while coach is not exactly comfortable, I am quite sure the cargo area of plane is even less so. This following an hour and a half drive when the furthest you've ever travelled is 3 miles into town to the vet. We asked you to please take the dog back to the vet after a week or two in the hopes that the "murmur" was simply caused by the stress of the flight and you agreed. Then instead of working thru this with us, you went ahead and created this blog.

Fiona is one of a litter of five. No heart defects were detected in any of her litter mates, nor have any been detected in any past puppies from her mother or father. Early on in our business, we had the unfortunate bad luck of purchasing two adult males, two adult females and their combined five puppies from a backyard breeder who was going out of business who had health issues. One of the puppies showed signs of a heart murmur after delivery to our customer, but the issue was resolved and we did not continue to breed the animals, but sold them or gave them away as pets.

We are a responsible breeder and would not knowingly sell a sick or otherwise defective animal for greed or any other reason.

I find it interesting that you have asked for donations to help pay for any vet bills you might incur for Fiona after you mentioned to us in one of your emails: "...my husband and I are lucky enough to have the financial means to care for Fiona..." Anyone purchasing an new puppy from anywhere will incur vet bills. Appears you have an angle on financial assistance
email history between PomSource.com and Sarah Murray:

Unfortunately the vet won’t allow Fiona to fly in her current condition, and without the vet certificate the airlines won’t allow her to fly as well.
I’ll wait for three weeks to take her to another vet for a second opinion on the matter. If at that time she’s healthy and the murmur has cleared, then we’re fine. If not, I’ll consult the lawyers at the AZ Humane society, as well as my personal attorney for further advice on AZ and ILL puppy lemon laws.

Hi Sarah, as clearly stated in our contract, we will gladly replace her, but cannot pay vet bills. We have always had healthy and happy puppies in the past. We pray that Fiona’s condition is temporary and that you will have many together, should you decided to keep her. If not, as stated in the contract, you must return Fiona and all paper work before a replacement puppy can be sent. We also need a letter from your vet stating the exact problem. Again we are so sorry this has happened. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks Carol/PomSource

Hi
I spent all night thinking about this last night
Sending her back isn’t really an option, the vet said in her current condition he wouldn’t sign a certificate saying that she was healthy enough to fly, unless we further investigate this matter via ultrasound.
Evidently, an ultrasound could give us a better idea as to whether or not the condition is temporary, would get worse with age, would be correctable with surgery or medications, etc etc
While my husband and I are lucky enough to have the financial means to care for Fiona, I certainly am disappointed that having spent so much money for her we now face the prognosis of an uncertain future. The cost of heartbreak is much more of a concern for me.
Fiona doesn’t act sick or unhealthy in anyway, however, the vet said that this could rapidly change as she ages.
So, the long short of it is, I’m willing to wait a few weeks. I’ll make an appointment with a different vet and get a second opinion on the matter. I’ll pay for this, and am happy to do it. If the second vet recommends an ultrasound, I’ll ask that you pay for the ultrasound so that we better know Fiona’s health situation
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I’m so sorry that your vet is hearing a murmur. My vet didn’t hear one and the stress of travel could have caused the murmur. You can send her back if you would like and we will replace her as soon as we have another puppy you like or wait a couple of weeks and see if the murmur goes away. I feel really bad about this and our vet has a very good reputation, so I’m sure he didn’t hear one. We will work this out, don’t worry. I have had one other puppy with a murmur (different parents) and the lady decided to keep her. She has acted sick or unhealthy in any way. Let us know what you want to do. Carol/PomSource

I just got back from the vet’s
I would call you but I’m not really in any condition to speak on the phone
The vet was VERY concerned because he could hear a very marked murmur
In fact, he said that she shouldn’t have flown yesterday its so bad.
I’m not sure where to go from here.
He said that there was a chance it could get better, and also a chance she could die in a month from it.
I’m very upset, understandably. Where do we go from here?
He said that you can contact him with any questions

The vet as well as any documentation on heart murmurs in puppies clearly states that these aren't conditions brought upon by stress. This is a defect that would have been present in her since birth.
As for the financial means, yes, I am pissed that I paid you $800 for a puppy that was supposedly genetically sound and healthy.
This isn't about financial gain on my part, this is about letting everyone else know what type of breeders you are.
I'll remove the link at the bottom, just to prove that point.
I am willing to see Fiona through her illness, if at some point the vet states that it would be humane to put her down, I'll probably do so.
It is too early to determine that, and I'm willing to see her through any expensive procedures such as ultrasound, medicines, or surgery.
Heart murmur surgery can have a success rate of 90% or higher, so I think your comment to "destroy" her is disgusting. Just goes to show, again, that your real concern isn't over the welfare of your puppies and future puppies, but of your "contract".
Under AZ state puppy lemon law, I'm just asking for veterinary reimbursment up to the sale price of Fiona. Something which pomsource isn't acknowledging per their "contract".
A copy of the AZ puppy lemon law can be found at :
http://www.act-az.org/laws.html#puppylemonlaw
Fiona will have a loving and fabulous home, and we're willing to see her through any expensive procedures because she has a life, and its a life that we think is fantastic. We're not willing to risk that life by flying her in an airplane just to go along with your "contract"
